Precision Laser Hygiene Academy (PLHA) has supported and mentored hundreds of clinicians in practical diode laser integration and real-world application.

Founder | Precision Laser Hygiene Academy (PLHA)

Rebecca Friend is a practicing dental hygienist, laser educator, mentor, and published dental hygiene contributor with a passion for helping clinicians confidently integrate emerging technology into everyday patient care.

With decades of clinical experience in dental hygiene and extensive hands-on diode laser training, Rebecca brings a unique perspective that combines clinical knowledge, education, and practical implementation.

As the founder of Precision Laser Hygiene Academy (PLHA), Rebecca developed The Precision Diode Method™—a structured approach designed to bridge the gap between understanding diode laser science and confidently applying laser-supported care within real-world hygiene workflows.

Her teaching philosophy centers on more than learning technology—it is about developing clinical judgment, refining technique, improving communication, and creating a practical pathway for successful implementation.

Rebecca has authored numerous dental hygiene publications and has supported and mentored hundreds of clinicians through practical diode laser education and skill development.

What is The Precision Diode Method™?

The Precision Diode Method™ is a structured diode laser education pathway developed by Rebecca Friend, BS, RDH, designed for dental hygienists ready to elevate patient care through confident, evidence-informed laser integration. Rather than just teaching laser settings and protocols, it combines clinical science, applied skill development, and practice integration — helping clinicians move beyond simply understanding diode laser technology to confidently applying it in real-world clinical practice through education, instructor-guided coaching, and hands-on implementation.

Who can benefit from this program?

The Precision Diode Method™ is designed for hygienists beginning their diode laser journey, practices ready to implement laser protocols clinically, clinicians refining existing laser technique, and teams seeking evidence-informed, PACE-approved continuing education. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to bring laser integration confidently into your practice, there’s a pathway built for where you are.

Which level should I start with?

If you’re new to diode laser integration, start with Level 1. If your practice already owns a laser, you can select either Level 1 for learn-at-your-own-pace, or Level 2 In-Office Training for group implementation. If you’ve had prior training and want a tune-up, choose the Level 3 Refresher.

Is the program PACE-approved?

Yes, the Precision Diode Method™ is PACE-approved, ensuring that the training meets high standards for continuing education in dental hygiene.
